In Landkreis Rosenheim, large quantities of green waste per resident and year have been collected separately for many years in the recycling collection points and the green waste composting plants, and at the same time at-source composting has been promoted. In addition, in 2016, a bring system for household kitchen and food waste will be introduced gradually in the recycling depots.
The event is part of an on-going joint project of bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute of Process Engineering and Packaging („Fraunhofer-Institut für Verfahrenstechnik und Verpackung“ - IVV), which began in mid-2015 on behalf of the Federal Environmental Agency („Umweltbundesamt“).
Together with AUDI, BMW, Neenah Gessner, SGL Carbon, Siemens and Voith Composite, as well as the Fraunhofer Institute of Building Physics, bifa has worked on the MAI recycling project for more than three years.
At the initiative of the aws (waste management and urban cleaning company of the City of Augsburg), 15 partners and the VKU (association of municipal companies) joined together to work up the principles and representative data for discussion and possible further development of collection services.
