bifa will be starting a new "Talk im Technikum" series of events in 2015

press release

On 4 March 2015, from 13:30, the new bifa series of events, the "Talk im Technikum" (Talk in the Technical Centre) will be held.

During each of these half-day events, topics will be presented and discussed trenchantly from different points of view. The opening event will focus on "metal raw materials", whose impending shortage is currently on everyone's lips. But how real is this risk? Isn't it more a matter of markets and prices? How important are ecological or social aspects? Is the perspective of the German debate too narrow?

In the bifa-Technikum, Consul Bailiang Tao of the People's Republic of China and Consul General E. Moeller of the USA will each be presenting the raw material policy of their respective countries. The view of German production companies will be presented by Dr. Hubertus Bardt of the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft in Cologne. While Friedel Hütz-Adams of the Südwind Institute will examine the ecological and social aspects more closely, Prof. Hermann Wotruba of RWTH Aachen will show the real conditions of raw material preparation in situ.

The heart of the event will be a podium discussion with all speakers, moderated by Rudolf Erhard (journalist), which will include participation of the audience and will reflect current opinions, theses and statement critically.

Representatives of industry and government as well as interested members of the public are invited to take part.

Participation in the event is free of charge. Programm Talk im Technikum 2015 (German language only)
