New fields of business for PDR
Developing new fields of business! Companies who see themselves as innovative pioneers of their industry face this challenge regularly. This also applies to PDR Recycling GmbH + Co KG (PDR), a provider specialised in recycling solutions, which considers sustainable management to be its duty.
Thought patterns let behind
In the search for new business ideas familiar thought patterns have to be abandoned, suggestions from different areas must be brought together and new contacts made. PDR therefore engaged bifa to develop a suitable methodology for an ideas generation process.
It was based on the integrated product policy (IPP); a concept that brings the stations and players of a product life cycle closer together in order to open up new options and scope for action. This was linked with a Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection (Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Umwelt, Gesundheit und Verbraucherschutz) project to identify the opportunities and barriers of IPP. Four workshops were then held with experts from all kinds of different areas - some of whom were already cooperation partners of PDR, some of whom were potential partners - to produce new business ideas.
Recycling from new angles
The bifa method helped the experts to consider recycling from new angles and to develop new ideas. The result was an innovative range of ideas with high future potential: more than 80 in total, all of which are well-suited to PDR and open up the opportunity to occupy purposefully first-mover niches. Outside of this process, PDR is always interested in ideas and cooperation.
bifa has the methodology knowledge to drive forward innovation processes and has diverse experience in the environmental sector.
