Natural fibre recycling - joint tests by bifa and Erdwich GmbH

bifa and the company Erdwich GmbH from Kaufering recently carried out a test on the topic of natural fibre recycling. The objective was to reduce the size of cutting wastes made of natural fibres, which were mixed with thermoplastics and to examine them with regard to their recyclability.

Shreddering

It was necessary to achieve a predefined particle size so that the material can be treated in other process steps. Apart from the technical result, the throughput naturally also played a role. Erdwich used the 3-shaft crusher M465/3-480. The result conformed to the requirements. In a very short time the 3-shaft machine crushed the material to the required size. Overall it was found that the material flow was also homogenised.

Recycling Technologies Bayern

Erdwich has been an active member of Bavaria's recycling technologies network since it was founded in December 2010. The network currently has 14 equal members.

Many of them have already carried out joint projects in the past and used mutual interfaces as the basis of the cooperation. The cooperation is aimed at all recycling segments in which the members also work and therefore covers the whole range of recycling or reuse. The objective of the umbrella brand is to market high-quality technologies "Made in Bayern" beyond the state's boundaries and to solve complex tasks together.
